The Durga Saptashati, also known as Chandi Path, is a revered text of 700 verses describing the Goddess's victory over adversity. Its recitation is considered one of the most powerful practices for protection, courage and removing deep-rooted obstacles.

When Should It Be Performed

Navratri (both Chaitra and Sharad) is the most significant window, though it can also be performed on Ashtami, Navami, or any date advised after checking your chart.

Detailed Procedure

   Kalash sthapana

   A sacred vessel invoking the Goddess is established at the start of the recitation.

   Path arambh

   The recitation begins with preliminary verses (Kavach, Argala and Keelak) before the main text.

   Saptashati path

   All thirteen chapters are recited, either across a single extended sitting or over multiple days.

   Havan

   A concluding havan is often added, especially at the end of Navratri.

   Kanya pujan (optional)

   Young girls are honoured as forms of the Goddess, a traditional closing practice during Navratri.
